So we were in New York during the hurricane(I was there for a psychopharmacology conference and exam……bad timing….). At CVS and Walgreens, there were long lines for medications; the woman in front of me was getting her sumatriptan for migraines. Many pharmacies were closed(the pharmacist and workers could not get there). It is useful to keep a bit extra of certain meds if bad weather is approaching; the hurricanes/floods/tornados produce practical problems with access to meds, plus the stress, accompanied by severe weather changes, bring on more migraines. As you can see on the TV, the entire ordeal is very stressful for those living there. I feel terrible for all those caught in this hurricane, as their homes are damaged, winter is quickly approaching, and the infrastructure is badly damaged………will take a year or 2 to recover.
