Dr. Mehmet Oz, a cardiac surgeon, embraced as “America’s doctor” was recently interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in The Oprah Magazine, January 2012. Instead of committing to grand promises, such as eating spinach every day, or running 21 miles a week, Dr. Oz suggests kicking off your new year with meaningful yet manageable steps.
Some of his suggestions are ones you have probably heard of, like drinking green tea, or indulging in dark chocolate. But he also shared some ideas you may not have thought of. How about memorizing a poem for a cognitive boost… or practice saying no to a friend, colleague or family member for the sake of your own health.
