Tension Headache– mild-to-moderate head pain 0-15 days per month
Chronic Daily Headache– mild-to-moderate head pain 15+ days per month
Episodic Migraine– moderate-to-severe head pain, with nausea, photophobia and phonophobia ranging from 0-14 days per month
Migraine with Aura– migraine with visual disturbances or tingling in hands or feet
Chronic Migraine– moderate-to-severe head pain, with nausea, photophobia and or phonophobia 15 + days per month
Episodic Cluster– severe onset of head pain occurring behind one eye usually, with eye tearing, eye redness, nasal congestion/runny nose unilateral, lasting 15 minutes to under 4 hours, restless during attacks, usually occurs in the middle of the night, may occur multiple times per day and last for weeks or months at a time and then followed by pain-free remission. May be seasonal.
Chronic Cluster– same as episodic cluster, however pain-free remission lasts less than 3 months
New Onset Daily Persistent Headache– sudden daily headache often occurring after an infection or trauma
Post-Concussion Headache– headache or migraine from a concussion
Hemiplegic Migraine– migraine with aura including motor weakness lasting 2-72 hours that is fully reversible
Migraine with Brainstem Aura– migraine with aura that originates from brainstem with either dysarthria, vertigo, tinnitus, hypacusis, diplopia, ataxia not attributed to sensory deficit and or decreased level of consciousness
Retinal Migraine– migraine attack with monocular vision disturbance
Prolonged Migraine– migraine lasting > 72 hours
Persistent Aura without Infarction– aura symptoms persisting for one week or more without evidence of infarction on neuroimaging
Cough Headache– headache brought on by cough, straining, and or valsalva maneuver
Exercise Headache– headache brought on during or after strenuous physical exertion
Primary Headache Associated with Sexual Activity– headache brought by sexual activity
Primary Stabbing Headache– ice pick pain or jabs occurring spontaneously, lasting seconds, irregular in frequency or multiple times per day
Hypnic Headache– “alarm-clock headache” develops only during sleep causing wakening, lasting 15 minutes to 4 hours, occurring 10 + times per month, without autonomic symptoms or restlessness
Abdominal Migraine– moderate-to-severe midline abdominal pain, with nausea/vomiting, lasting 2-72 hours, not attributed to another disorder
Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome– recurrent attacks of intense nausea and vomiting occurring 4 times per hour, with pallor and lethargy, attacks lasting greater than 1 hour up to 10 days not attributed to another disorder
Other conditions we treat:
Anxiety– mind and body response to stressful situation, uneasiness, dread
Depression– mood disorder characterized by persistent feeling of sadness, loss of hope, loss of interest
Fibromyalgia– chronic muscle pain, stiffness, tenderness and fatigue
