This article(NY Times) touches on loneliness in older folk; however, I also see quite a bit of isolation and loneliness in younger people. It takes a lot of work to connect and form new friendships; social media is better than nothing, but face to face(or at least on the phone) interactions are much better.https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/30/health/loneliness-elderly.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fhealth&action=click&contentCollection=health®ion=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=sectionfront&_r=0
